How e-508 Pricing Works
Pricing is based on more than page count. e-508 applies the pricing profile associated with the customer or contract and evaluates document complexity, remediation method, service level, and applicable adjustments.
Remediation Levels
You do not need to determine the level yourself. e-508 analyzes your document and recommends the appropriate level.
Simple
Primarily narrative content with standard structure and limited accessibility correction.
Moderate
Additional structural issues, tables, graphics, or inconsistent authoring practices.
Complex
Significant manual work involving reading order, complex tables, diagrams, or advanced structures.
Complex Plus
Highly complex or specialized material requiring extensive expert remediation and validation.
Fillable Form
Interactive controls, labels, instructions, tab order, validation, and form-accessibility requirements.

Choose the Appropriate Remediation Method
Available methods depend on document complexity and the customer's pricing profile. e-508 displays only methods available for the applicable service.
AI-Assisted / AI Only
Appropriate for eligible, predictable document structures. Availability may be restricted for complex documents.
Human Remediation
Accessibility specialists perform remediation requiring contextual judgment, complex structure repair, or specialized review.
AI + Human
Automation accelerates eligible processing while specialists provide correction, contextual review, and quality assurance.
What if the document is more complex than initially estimated?
If an Accessibility Specialist determines that the initial remediation level understates the actual level of effort, the specialist can request a higher level and document the reasons. Quality Assurance reviews the request before revised pricing is applied. When customer approval is required, e-508 presents the revised amount before additional work proceeds.
Complex tables • irregular reading order • scanned/OCR content • advanced PDF/UA repair • charts and diagrams • fillable forms • mathematical notation • unavailable source files • complex PowerPoint objects • complex Excel workbook structures

Frequently Asked Questions
Additional guidance is available in the e-508 Customer Guide.
How is my remediation level determined?
e-508 evaluates document characteristics that affect remediation effort and recommends a level such as Simple, Moderate, Complex, Complex Plus, or Fillable Form.
Do I need to select the remediation level myself?
No. The initial level is determined through e-508 document analysis. An Accessibility Specialist may request a higher level if conditions discovered during review require additional effort.
Can every document use AI remediation?
No. Availability depends on the document, complexity level, service category, and applicable pricing profile.
What does contingency mean?
Where applicable, contingency provides an allowance for conditions that cannot be completely identified during initial analysis. Your e-508 quote identifies the applicable rate and how it is treated.
How are rush and emergency services priced?
Rush and emergency availability and surcharges are determined by the applicable customer or contract pricing profile rather than by one universal e-508 rate.
Should I upload the original source file?
Yes, whenever available. Native Word, Excel, and PowerPoint source files can improve remediation efficiency and support future accessible revisions.
What happens if I change the document after remediation?
Substantive changes may affect accessibility and validation. Customer-initiated changes should be submitted through the e-508 modification workflow.
How do I retrieve my completed files?
Approved deliverables, original files, validation reports, pricing records, comments, modifications, and history are available through the Remediation Delivery Workspace.
